Community Conversations are in-person meetings with Boulder County residents. Three Community Conversation meetings will be convened covering two different purposes. Two meetings are dedicated to the first Community Conversation topic below, and one meeting will cover the second topic.
Community Conversation Topic 1 (January 22 and 24, 2019)
The purpose of this meeting was to better understand community priorities and concerns as they relate to preparing for and responding to shocks. The outcome of this meeting was critical input for developing resiliency actions for their potential inclusion in this project's final report. The meeting explored tolerances for various risk-mitigating action types and discuss their potential tradeoffs. Community Conversations were held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm:
- January 22, 2019 at the St. Vrain Community Hub in Longmont, 515 Coffman Street.
- January 24, 2019 at the West Senior Center in Boulder, 909 Arapahoe Avenue
Community Conversation Topic 2 (June 10, 2019)
The purpose of this meeting is to answer the question: What actions are supported by the public? The meeting will involve an exhibit-style presentation of key study findings, with displays. Staff will be available to facilitate informal conversations about the pros/cons and benefits/costs of resiliency actions within the context of study scenarios. Emphasis will be placed on capturing levels of public support.
